Why Use Font Mockups?
A font might look great in a simple text preview, but how will it work in your actual design? Mockups help you visualize typography in realistic contexts before committing to a font choice.
For client work: Present font options professionally with styled mockups instead of plain text samples.
For personal projects: Test how a font feels in different colors and on different products before starting your design.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a font mockup generator?
- A font mockup generator lets you preview how a font looks in real-world design contexts. Instead of seeing text on a plain background, you see your words printed on a product photo, in your own colors.
- Which products can I put my text on?
- Four for now: a T-shirt, a tote bag, a billboard and a coffee cup. You can change the text color, size, weight, rotation and opacity, and drag the text to move it. The product photos themselves can't be recolored yet.
- Can I download the mockup I create?
- Yes. Export saves your mockup as a PNG up to 3840 pixels wide, ready for client presentations, social media posts, or testing how a font looks in your design projects.
- Is the mockup generator free?
- Absolutely! The Mockup Generator is completely free to use. Create unlimited mockups with any font from our library.
- Can I use my own fonts?
- Not in the Mockup Generator yet. It uses the 2,000+ fonts in our library. To try a font file of your own, upload it in the Font Pairing tool.
- What's the best use for font mockups?
- Font mockups are perfect for presenting typography choices to clients, creating social media graphics, testing fonts for branding projects, or simply visualizing how a font would look in a real design context before committing to it.
