A grid-based identity, with credited type work
Bold describes a franchise-wide identity created with Minecraft's brand team. The studio credits Canada Type for type design and says the system uses a 16-by-16 pixel grid. These details explain why the typography belongs to a coordinated identity rather than a single downloadable effect. The case study is evidence for that project; it should not be stretched into a claim that every in-game label, older logo or later entertainment title uses the same font file.

Anton

Regular · Latin specimen
A dense display direction for an original project name. Its smooth outlines do not reproduce Minecraft’s pixel-grid alphabet or 3D logo.

Roboto

Regular · Latin specimen
A simpler supporting-text direction to compare with the display face. Roboto is not attributed to the Minecraft wordmark.
View fontSeparate the alphabet from the block effect
When evaluating a blocky heading, start with flat letters. Compare the counter inside an A, the width of an M and the gaps between vertical strokes. Then examine what extrusion, bevels and perspective do to those shapes. A font can provide a squared alphabet without providing a three-dimensional logo. For your own game or project name, use depth sparingly and test a small monochrome version; thin gaps that look convincing at poster size can disappear in a navigation bar.
A commercial starting point for an independent heading
ITC Machine is a separate ITC family listed on MyFonts. Treat its geometric capitals as a possible starting point, not Minecraft's original type. Try a short project name in its merchant preview before choosing a weight. Anton provides a free, dense display comparison; Roboto provides a simpler supporting-text direction. None reproduces the franchise's custom shapes or block treatment. Keep the source font, your own dimensional styling and any brand artwork separate, and use the commercial license appropriate to your intended application.
Evidence for this attribution ↓Using official assets is a different decision
Minecraft Education's partner page supplies brand guidance and routes asset use through its stated approval conditions. It does not make a downloaded logo interchangeable with a font license. This page links to the source rather than copying the franchise artwork. If your project needs Minecraft branding, consult the official conditions for that particular use instead of treating a similar font as permission to reproduce the identity.

Is Minecraft's logo the same as its UI font?
This article covers the franchise identity documented by Bold. The game's interface, older logos and other title treatments require their own evidence.
Will a squared font create the block logo?
No. Letter design, extrusion, bevels and perspective each affect the finished artwork. A retail alphabet is only one possible input to your own composition.
